From our US base in Rockville, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, DC, to Kuala Lumpur now, RIVA makes
available the highest standard of qualitative research training to new as well as veteran market researchers.
In 1982, the RIVA Training Institute was founded by Naomi Hairston Henderson and Jo Ann Hairston specifically
to offer moderator training in constructive and ethical qualitative research techniques.
Since then, RIVA has trained thousands of researchers and professionals through public and custom courses
in the skills and techniques of qualitative research.
The Institute has a national and international 
reputation for intensive, rigorous training programs.
RIVA course participants benefit from RIVA's philosophy of experiential, hands-on learning - whether
it is writing a moderator's guide, moderating a focus group, analyzing a transcript or developing a
qualitative research practice. The question of "How do I use this in the real world?" is eliminated,
